Sapphire Academy is a centre for children with special needs. It helps kids ages 3 to 14 and gives them the tools and resources they need to be able to deal with the problems they face every day, whether they are academic, physical, social, or emotional. Some disabilities that this academy could help with are autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy.

The academy tailored a wide range of programmes, namely theIndividual Educational Plan (IEP), which comprises a specially designed curriculum based on every child’s needs. This is because they do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach. So, with this approach, instructors are able to conduct personalised teaching, discover children’s interests and potential, and create an environment that suits the children and helps them develop their full potential.

TheEarly Intervention Programme (EIP)at Sapphire Academy assists children in developing their skills, overcoming developmental delays (especially for toddlers), and rehabilitating disabilities. Some activities in this programme are speech therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, play therapy, and social work sessions. Through music and movement, theirSense Modality Programmecan help children improve their speech, communication skills, and other life skills. TheTransition Programme is also available for children who require functional academic lessons to assist them with personal care and hygiene, as well as social skills.

Children are able to communicate and play together with their friends once they are comfortable enough to roam around and interact on their own.

Sapphire Academy also has the Special Needs Teaching Programme (SEN Curriculum), which consists of a lot of lessons that could develop the children’s growth. The common one isLearning Through Play, which encourages children to communicate with other people and learn various skills through playing. Then, they haveSelf-Help Skills, which are a series of basic activities that can be done in daily life.

Next, inFine-Motor Skills, Gross-Motor Skills, and Creativity, children are taught to release their energy through creativity and movements and strengthen their body muscles by using objects.Language, Social, Emotional, and Intellectual Development are available too, as the kids will be expressing their thoughts using words or gestures and learning early numeracy and literacy in a safe environment. Children will also beLearning Through Senses and getting involved in theBrain Gym, where they are able to discern information from their environment and function better.Art Therapy can be conducted for those who want treatments for psychological and physical disorders.
