D Swim Academy (DSA)_123schools

D Swim Academy (DSA) is an aquatic school that provides swimming lessons in Malaysia. DSA conducts both swimming and other lifesaving programmes that involve both sport and water safety. When they have mastered the basics, they can opt for other programmes, courses, and services to broaden their skills in swimming. It is the only swimming school in Malaysia that is recognised as a Gold Level AUSTSWIM Swim Centre with certified swim teachers.Â

DSA’s general swimming programmes start with the Baby and Me Swimming Programme (for infants aged six to 36 months), a water awareness development programme for both babies and parents. Then, they move on to theKiddie Swimmers Programme (for toddlers aged three to four), where toddlers are encouraged to become independent and enjoy being in the water without their parents.

There are four swimming strokes – front crawl, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly.

For five years old and older, they can join theLearn to Swim Programme, where they will learn a wide range of swimming skills that will develop their interest in more complex swimming activities later on. There are a few sub-programmes under this section, which are the Junior Swimmers Programme (aged five to 12), the Young Swimmers Programme (aged 13 to 19), the Adult Swimmers Programme (aged 20 and above), and the Swim Programme for Schools.

Those who have shown potential in swimming will be encouraged to join the DSA Swim Squad Programme. TheirMini Squad Programme is the foundation for competition preparation and training. Meanwhile, students in theSquad Programme will receive intensive training before competing in a competition. Those trainings include various swimming styles, stroke techniques, strength, flexibility, and endurance.

Swimming is the ideal choice for obese people who cannot do any weight-bearing activities.

D Swim Academy provides specialty programmes for those who need more than basic training. TheSpecial Care Swimmer Programme is a swimming lesson programme for children with disabilities or special needs. They must be given extra attention and patience, especially from the instructors, as they only learn at their own pace and try to adapt to the lessons. Then, theArtistic Swimming Programme is a blend of acrobatics, swimming, and dance that contributes to the fitness, teamwork, and coordination of the group. Next, DSA’sWater Polo Programmeis a team water sport that combines swimming and games and does activities that resemble football games. Also, they have theMermaid Swimming Programme, a workout that focuses on cardio and strength training all over the body.Â

Professional courses and services are available in DSA too. People who want to teach swimming and water safety can sign up forAUSTSWIM courses. Anyone can get aCertified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO)® Certification by learning the basic knowledge, techniques, and skills of running a pool. This will help reduce accidents at any aquatic facility. DSA also offers its pools for people who want tohost pool parties or conduct scuba training.

A lot of input can be found on their website, so feel free to go through every single programme that DS has offered! Join DSA now and let the fear of deep waters go away!
