Kuala Lumpur Bird Park (KL Bird Park) is a famous and renowned eco-tourism destination located in Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens. This park has more than 3,000 local and foreign birds, coming from approximately 200 different species!
This park uses thefree-flight concept, which is the major evidence ensuring the survival and species continuity of the birds as the park has numerous suitable nesting sites for breeding. The creatures have adapted so well to their environment, which makes them able to breed naturally.Â
KL Bird Park is divided into four zones, three of which let the birds fly free in their normal habitat, while birds in the other zone are placed in separate cages and mini aviaries.
InZone 1, visitors will go throughthe Free-Flight Walk-In Aviary, where they can find an Indian blue peacock, crowned pigeons, yellow-billed storks, doves, egrets, and ibises. Then, they will meet the Indian ring-necked parakeets, budgerigars, sun conures, and cockatiels in the Love Aviary. They will come across the magnificent Brahminy kites inBrahminy Land. One of the most famous places to visit is theFlamingo Pond, where visitors can see the pelicans and flamingos and their ability to stand on one leg! When reaching the end of the zone, visitors will enterBulbul Land, which is home to about 130 species of bulbul. Other than bulbuls in the aviary, there are also the Asian fairy bluebird, the silver pheasant, and the golden-breasted starling.
